Hi, I’m Sienna Kirshman. I have Celiac Disease and I recently went to New York City. While we were there we went to AMAZING restaurants and bakeries.
First we went to Wild, Overall I give it a 9/10. We got these nachos that were delicious. They had a tomato sauce with really GOOD chicken. I definitely recommend this if you love nachos and are willing to spice it up. Afterwards, I had a burger with bacon on it. The bacon was delicious and well cooked and same with the meat.
The next day we went to Senza Gluten Café. I saw better so I gave it a 7/10. I ordered a pizza JUST for me, but instead I got a pizza that I could share among seven of my friends. It was a decent pizza. The crust was doughy and for me I like my crust to be crispy.
For dinner that day we went to Catch Steak NYC. Overall it was the best restaurant yet in NYC, but the service was TERRIBLE, so I give it an 8/10. We were at the restaurant for three hours and the food took two hours. After an hour of waiting I started to get very impatient. First for an appetizer I had a caesar salad. It was super good but they could have done better because there were some random things in there like shredded hard boiled eggs. After a long time of waiting I got a really good steak and mashed potatoes. Steak and mashed potatoes are my favorite foods so I was so excited to go to a steakhouse. But I was very disappointed about the service.
The next night we went to Senza Gluten. It is an Italian restaurant, and I changed my mind about Catch Steak being my favorite restaurant in New York. I give it a 10/10. I had a chicken caesar salad. That was my FAVORITE salad, and I’ve loved Caesar salads since I was two, and this was my favorite. We also had this amazing bread called focaccia bread. Since I am gluten free most of the restaurants don’t normally have a gluten free bread that comes with your food. After that I got pasta with meat sauce on top, it was the best pasta I had in years. I definitely recommend it if you love Italian food. For the desserts we got chocolate and vanilla ice cream with tiramisu. That was the best dessert ever. It was incredible that’s why we came back another night with friends. I definitely recommend all of these restaurants if you are gluten free or have celiac disease.
We also went to some of the best bakeries I had ever been to. We went to Modern Bread and Bagel. I had some really good bagels and a regulah, overall I give it a 8/10. The regulah was a little too dry but it was still okay.
Another bakery is Noglu Bakery and Cafe. Overall I give it a 10/10. We first got a cream puff. It was AMAZING, one of the best gluten free pastries I have ever had! The pastry was light and crispy and had yummy cream in the inside
